RICARDO MARTINS IS A FILM DIRECTOR, DOP & EDITOR OF SHORT FILMS, COMMERCIALS, DOCUMENTARIES, FASHION FILMS, CORPORATE AND MUSIC VIDEOS.
Born in Torres Vedras, Portugal.
Graduate in Film and Video and Postgraduate in Directing Documentary. His progression was enriched by some academic awards and selections at national and international film festivals.
With over 12 years of experience working in commercials, promotional campaigns, tourism vídeos, documentaries and short-films, he consistently show passion in his work.
Ricardo Martins is a true story-teller and loves working with actors. His films stand for visually compelling stories with emotional depth. He strongly focuses on the visual aspect of each piece of work and try everything to achieve the perfect look that matches perfectly to the story.
In 2014 his short-film “What love means to me” has been selected for the prestigious film festivals such as International Leeds Film Festival (UK), NYPSFF (New York), Clermond Ferrand (France) and also some renowned festivals from Portugal such as Fantasporto, Festin, Caminhos do Cinema Português, among others.
Being awarded with the best short-film and best actress in Apullia Film Festival (Italy) and best actress in the festival CLUJSHORTS (Romania).
His latest short-film “Senhora de Si” has been selected for the BEST INDIE FILM AWARD (Inglaterra), Lisbon Film Rendez-vous (PT)
